In 2023, only about 45.4% of people with disabilities were employed, compared to 66.9% of their non-disabled counterparts . Learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, often require accommodations in the workplace, but barriers still exist, including stigma and insufficient support.

Learning disabilities affect many individuals in Ontario and across the world, yet misconceptions and stigma persist. Through the “I Can” Learning Disabilities Awareness Campaign, The Chance Centre (TCC) are working to raise awareness, promote inclusivity, and support individuals with learning disabilities. Your participation will help empower individuals, break down barriers, and create inclusive environments in both schools and workplaces.

What We Do

The Chance Centre (TCC):

The Chance Centre offers  job readiness and family empowerment programs, helping individuals and families in underserved communities overcome barriers to success. We provide advanced job skill development, including industry-specific training, certifications, and in-depth workshops that focus on career preparation. Through volunteer experiences and employer partnerships, we offer structured pathways to paid job placements, with a focus on leadership development. TCC also provides training and education for employers on neurodiversity in the workplace, consulting on inclusive strategies that foster diverse and productive work environments. Our family empowerment programs offer resources and coaching to support the unique challenges faced by families of neurodiverse individuals.

The “I Can” Learning Disabilities Awareness Campaign focuses on the empowering message that individuals with learning disabilities can achieve their goals.
